The sun shone brightly over the rolling greens of Eagle Vines Golf Club on June 12, as the Kiwanis Club of Benicia hosted another successful golf tournament fundraiser. With a record-breaking 116 golfers participating, the 2025 tournament not only brought together local golf enthusiasts but also raised over $30,000 for youth programs that support the next generation of Benicia leaders.

The event kicked off in high spirits with morning raffles and check-in games, building excitement before players hit the pristine fairways of one of Napa Valley’s most beautiful courses. As golfers made their way through 18 holes under cloudless skies, camaraderie, competition, and community spirit were on full display.

Tournament winners were Stephen McCord, Ryan McDonald, and Charles Osborne.

Following the tournament, participants gathered for a celebratory luncheon where tournament winners were announced and the much-anticipated “Golden Ticket” raffle winner was revealed. This year’s lucky recipient will enjoy a two-night getaway at the iconic Sunnyside resort on the shores of Lake Tahoe, with their choice of a scenic round of golf or a luxurious massage experience.

While the tournament offered a day of fun and friendly competition, its purpose went far deeper. Proceeds from the event directly support a range of youth-focused initiatives sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Benicia. In 2025 alone, the club awarded $25,000 in scholarships to deserving high school graduates and continues to back local programs such as school reading initiatives, the High School Key Club, Middle School Builders Club, and youth debate sponsorships.

Founded in 1926, the Kiwanis Club of Benicia remains committed to its mission of “improving the world, one child and one community at a time.” With each swing of the club and each raffle ticket sold, this year’s tournament demonstrated how a day on the course can help build a brighter future. We’re indebted to our sponsors for contributing to the day’s success.

As tournament director and club members reflect on the event’s success, planning is already underway to make 2026’s tournament even more impactful. But for now, the club celebrates a day of sunshine, sportsmanship, and the enduring generosity of a community united in support of its youth.
