Serving The Community Since 1926

Our Programs

Benicia High Key Club

Kiwanis of Benicia is proud to sponsor and mentor the incredibly gifted students of the BHS Key Club. Nationally acknowledged for their volunteerism, fundraising and community service, our members do all we can to support their leadership opportunities and educational success.

Kiwanis Scholarships

Scholarships, and fundraising to support the incredible graduating seniors each year, is truly the heart and soul of Kiwanis of Benicia. Each year we strive to give more to more of the deserving college, or trade school, bound students of Benicia and Liberty High Schools. Our Annual Golf Tournament is a major fundraiser for our Scholarship Program.

Community Dinners

Kiwanis of Benicia cooks! Each month we provide dinners for St. Paul’s Community Meal program, on the second Monday, third Wednesday and 5th Wednesday, if there is one. As a club we prepare, pack and serve up to 450 plus community members dinner each month.

Literacy - Benicia Reads

Our mission to serve the children in our community comes with a deep desire to support reading programs in our schools. We participate in Books and Blankets, Benicia Reads and provide books for summer reading for up to 400 school aged children working with elementary schools and our local bookshop.

Charter Cub Scout Pack #108

Kiwanis of Benicia charters Benicia’s Cub Scout Pack #108, a successful sprouting ground for of our town’s many Eagle Scouts.

AEDs in Schools Program

We have succeeded in placing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in Benicia High School, Liberty High School, Benicia Middle School, Joe Henderson Elementary, Matthew Turner Elementary, Mary Farmer Elementary and Robert Semple Elementary. We are committed to assure that AEDs are accessible in all schools in the Benicia Unified School District and that staff is prepared to save a life should an individual collapse in sudden cardiac arrest.

Eggstravaganza

A program at our City Park the weekend before Easter. There are dancing, food games, lots of people selling their crafts, Entertainment by local groups. The whole idea of all of this is kids making baskets for Easter for kids that are less fortunate. We have a very large set up of games and toys and candy and the kids come along and put a basket together knowing it's for a child that probably would not get an Easter Basket. The feeling around this table is full of love and caring, it's a very magical day.

Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community needs are different so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed, and thrive, great things happen.
